Hi;

I am writing software instructions in an html file in Microsoft Word.
If I save it as a Single File Web Document, will a user have to have
microsoft word installed inorder to view the document?

Thanks
Pat

First the subject of your thread "MHT" files and HTML files are two
differnt creatrues.
MHT files are a format for viewing "complete" saved web pages offline
with Internet Explorer.

Second, if you (or Word) creates and html "functioning" web page
(regardless of any bloat and restirctions imposed by Word created MS-
required compatability)?
The web page "should" be viewable with most web browser and NOT require
Word to view the page.

No, they should not require Word in order to view it. .MHT is an
"archive" format so to speak, and is usually associated with the
web browsers, most of which support the .mht format. Notice I
said "most".

Personally, I would rather simply use a flat folder format, and
just do it all in HTML, keeping all the necessary

Most web browsers will read it just fine. Current ones, anyway,
and former for several revs. Word won't be necessary.

BTW, Word isn't the preferred app for creating pages of this
type. Any html editor would be better.
