I have a 2000 database with a front end and a backend. A new frontend is copied down to the c: drive daily and the backend is on the network f: drive. I have a few users using a vpn desktop remote access with the same frontend the desktop users have and points to the f:backend. Lately, I'm having an exclusive lock problem when a user goes on though the VPN. The weird thing is that there is no lock file anywhere that I can find. The only way out at times is to recreate a backend and import all the tables into it. I can then delete or rename the old backend. Any ideas???? Another thing is that sometimes the desktop users get an invalid database message (appearing that the backend needs to be fixed) but the vpn user gets right on with no problem.
Thanks, Christine
