database locked "seth" <seth[ at ]work.org> 27.10.2005 12:30:51 i have a few databases that are shared among several users there is one database used by several people, however, a new person recently started here and is now using one of the databases problem is, when she opens it and uses it, nobody else can get it; it says it is "placed in a state by <user> on computer <computer> that prevents it from being opened or locked" if she closes it, others can get it no problem i know this can happen if someone opens an object in design mode, but she is not doing that any ideas?

RE: database locked rico 27.10.2005 12:45:09 On her version of access, go to Tools>options. Click the advanced tab. Find the option "Default Open mode". This is probably set to exlusive, set it to shared.
