excel safe mode

I have Office 2000 Premium and I have done something that prohibits Excel
from opening. I get the message: Excel.exe has generated errors and will be
closed by Windows. You must restart your program.

I can go to Run and type: "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start
Menu\Programs\Microsoft Excel (2).lnk" /s and the program opens in the Safe
Mode and everything works fine.

How can I fix my problem. Thank you very much.

Select help and then detect and repair. If you can't access Excel you can
do it from any Office application. You will need the installation CD

And further to my previous reply. If that fails think of anything you may
have loaded onto the machine recently. If you have Win XP you could go to
start>programs>accessories>system tools and system restore to return it to a
previous state
